OUR STORY & PHILOSOPHY

'Madera' in Spanish means wood. Up draws on the ethos of Upcycling. We give new life to discarded wood. Pallets, in particular, are used to transport goods to and around Australia. They are often used only once and then discarded. We wanted to take this precious resource and turn it into something with both form and function.

Madera Up transforms pallets and other found wood into furniture and homeware. We only use heat treated, chemical free and high quality wood. 

 

Madera Up is the passion project of Israel Palacios, a Peruvian self-trained artist who now calls Sydney home. With more than 20 years of experience, Israel is at his happiest transforming beautiful raw materials into unique functional artwork.
